Planning Engineer

Job Objectives:
To develop, monitor, and control project schedules and plans, ensuring timely execution of all project activities through effective planning, progress tracking, resource coordination, and reporting to support successful project delivery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop detailed project master schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and baseline programs using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Prepare short-term, medium-term, and long-term project plans in coordination with the Project Manager and site teams.
- Monitor actual progress against the baseline schedule and identify deviations, delays, and critical path impacts.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Conduct schedule variance analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions to recover delays.
- Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and procurement teams to align schedules with actual site conditions.
- Develop and maintain resource-loaded schedules and assist in resource planning and optimization.
- Prepare manpower, equipment, and material mobilization plans in line with project requirements.
- Support the preparation of project cash flow forecasts and budget tracking reports.
- Assist in preparing extension of time (EOT) claims and delay analysis documentation.
- Maintain and update project planning documentation, registers, and correspondence records.
- Participate in project review meetings and present schedule status to management and clients.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC and HSE teams to integrate quality and safety milestones into the schedule.
Essential Work Activities
- Develop and maintain project master schedules and baseline programs

- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, S-curves, and look-aheads
- Coordinate with site teams and subcontractors for schedule alignment
- Develop resource-loaded plans and manpower/equipment mobilization schedules
- Support EOT claims, delay analysis, and cash flow forecasting
Qualifications:
B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
Years of Experience:
Minimum 3 Years of experience in project planning and scheduling in construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects
Person Requirements:
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel for reporting and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Good understanding of construction methods, sequences, and site operations.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple project schedules simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Hindi and English; Malayalam preferred.
