Land Surveyor

Job Objectives

To carry out accurate surveying, measurement, leveling, and setting-out activities for construction projects, ensuring that all survey work is completed as per drawings, specifications, and project requirements while maintaining proper records and supporting smooth site execution.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct land and construction site surveys using total station, auto level, GPS, and other surveying equipment.
  • Carry out setting out, alignment, leveling, and measurements for civil works.
  • Prepare survey reports, drawings, and measurement records accurately.
  • Verify site measurements and quantities as per drawings and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with Site Engineers and Project Managers for setting out and execution activities.
  • Monitor levels, coordinates, elevations, and benchmarks at project sites.
  • Maintain accurate survey records and ensure timely submission of reports.
  • Identify and report discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
  • Ensure all surveying activities are carried out accurately and safely in compliance with HSE standards.
  • Assist in preparation of as-built drawings and measurement sheets for billing purposes.
  • Calibrate and maintain surveying instruments and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Support the site team with quantity verification for material reconciliation and billing activities.

Qualifications

  • Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Surveying.
  • Hands-on experience with total station, auto level, GPS, and other surveying instruments is mandatory.

Years of Experience

  • 1 to 5 Years of experience in surveying for construction or civil engineering projects, preferably in road, canal, building, or infrastructure works

Person Requirements

  • Proficiency in operating total station, auto level, GPS, and other surveying instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Good knowledge of setting-out, leveling, alignment, and quantity measurement techniques.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or other drawing/surveying software is an added advantage.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail in measurement and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work on-site in varied field and weather conditions.
  • Good coordination and communication skills with site teams.
  • Honest and reliable in maintaining accurate survey records and data.
  • Good communication skills in Hindi and English; Malayalam preferred.\
